Recovery House is a private application provided to residents by their recovery residence (the "House"). Accounts are issued by the House — there is no public sign-up. This policy explains what the app collects and why.

Who controls your information

Your recovery residence is responsible for your information. The app is the tool the House uses to operate. If you have questions or want your data deleted, contact your House staff.

What we collect

Account and profile details you or your House provide (name, contact information, residency details). Location, including in the background, when you allow it (see below). Basic app-usage information needed to run the service. As part of operating the residence, House staff may also keep records about your stay — for example rent and payments, program participation, and, where the House observes it, health-related logs such as medication or sobriety testing. Those staff records are part of the House's management system.

Background location — what it does and why

With your permission, the app uses your device location, including while the app is closed or in the background. Your House uses this to support the safety and accountability agreement you make when you join: for example, confirming check-ins and alerting House staff if you enter an area you have agreed to stay away from. Location is shared only with your own House's staff.

You can turn location off at any time in your phone's settings. Because location supports your House's safety expectations, turning it off may be visible to your House and may affect your residency agreement. The app does not use your location for advertising and never sells it.

Who can see your information

Only staff at your own recovery residence. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or unrelated third parties. We use service providers (such as secure hosting and database providers) solely to run the app on the House's behalf.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you are a resident and as needed afterward for the House's records and legal obligations. You may request deletion through your House staff, subject to records the House is required to retain.

Security

Information is stored using industry-standard protections, including encryption in transit and access limited to your House's authorized staff.

Children

The app is for adults in recovery residences and is not directed to children under 13.

Contact

Questions about this policy or your information should go to your recovery residence. For questions about the app itself, contact the House administrator who issued your account.
