Plain-language operator guide
What is sober living management software?
It is purpose-built operations software that helps a sober living home or recovery residence manage the resident, financial, accountability, property, and staff workflows that generic property software does not understand.
It is not simply a digital resident list
A recovery residence changes throughout the day. A resident moves rooms, pays part of a balance, receives a pass, misses a meeting, completes a task, requests maintenance, or needs a document. Management software should connect those events to the people responsible for follow-through.
The core workflows
- Admissions, contacts, rooms, beds, documents, and discharge history
- Rent charges, payments, balances, receipts, and financial exports
- Drug-test records, passes, meetings, chores, and accountability
- Maintenance requests, staff tasks, handoffs, and announcements
- Operational reports for leadership, courts, funders, or certifying organizations
What it should not become
Housing software should not pretend to replace an approved clinical record when an organization provides treatment. Operators should define which information belongs in housing operations, which belongs in a clinical system, and who may see or change each record.
When a house is ready
The signal is usually not bed count. It is coordination cost: staff re-entering information, owners chasing balances, records spread across texts and paper, or reports that require a last-minute search. At that point, a connected system can reduce avoidable administrative work.
